My child has never done track before. Do you take children without experience?
Yes! We promote healthy lifestyles through the sport of track and field. No previous experience is necessary to participate in the World Athlete Track Academy or the World Athlete track meets.
My child is 5. Can I take him home early on training and meet nights?
Sure. No problem. Younger children's teams wrap up early (about 7:30pm) on training nights. On meet nights, younger athlete events are early in the meet.
Can I drop off my child and come back and pick him up?
On the 3 training nights, you may drop off children over age 7 and pick them up at the end of the session. We must have your cell/home number in order to reach you. All children must be picked up no later than 8:15pm. Please, no exceptions.
Children cannot be dropped off on track meet nights. At the meets, they must be - when not competing - accompanied by a parent at all times.
What if there is a postponement due to weather?
Each school decides when its facilities are open. If the school district closes the school, our event is cancelled for the evening. If World Athlete has to postpone an event due to weather, we will post an announcement on the World Athlete Track Academy Facebook and Twitter pages. Working with the school district, World Athlete will try to reschedule the postponed event promptly.
My child has run competitive track before? Will your program challenge her?
World Athlete has children of all skill levels in its programs and meets. Athletes are grouped by age group during training. Athletes are skill assessed at the track academy and placed in the most appropriate training group.

Does my child have to be on a team to compete in the track meets?
Children enrolled in the World Athlete Indoor Track Academy are automatically entered in the 2 indoor meets. Community teams/clubs and unaffiliated athletes (those not on a team) are welcome to enter. Team coaches are asked to submit their entry roster in advance of each meet to facilitate athlete registrations.
Does World Athlete Track Academy have a real track?
Our indoor meets are hosted at the Moorestown Athletic Center in Moorestown High School located in Moorestown NJ (say that 3 times fast!). It is a great venue with ample space to hold a youth track meet. Though it does not have a laned track, we do configure a real nice 120 meter oval with a 40 meter straightaway - a perfect size for youth track! The multi-surface synethetic floor provides good traction and quick times. Spikes are not allowed at the indoor meets.
At our summer track meets, we use venues with modern 400 meter synthetic tracks that have at least 6 lanes. 1/4" spikes are allowed in the outdoor meets.
