ACADEMY PHILOSOPHY World Athlete Track Academy provide sports and recreation enrichment programs. All World Athlete camps, meets and races offer a fun opportunity for young athletes to learn the fundamental skills of track and field. Athletes are coached in sprinting, hurdling, jumping, relays, weight events and conditioning. Skills are improved through a combination of small station drills, daily team practices and group lectures.
Plenty of downtime is set aside for sports crafts, track movies and games. Athletes will have daily competitions and participate in the World Athlete Track Meet held one night during each Academy week. Athletes in the new Distance Race will participate in a community 5K run on the Saturday of their camp week.
ACADEMY INFORMATION Athletes can sign up for any number of weeks. Awards are given to individual contest winners and outstanding athletes. Our coaching staff is available for individual assistance at designated times. Large tents are available for shade/water breaks, lunch time and training lectures. The camp store will be open for food, beverages and snacks.
ACADEMY STAFF Academy Director Troy Pappas is the Head Coach of the Moorestown HS Boys Spring Track team. Entering his tenth season at Moorestown, his team won the 2006 and 2009 BCSL League meet championship. His athletes have had 6 “Top 10” NJ Meet of Champions finishes, 2 South Jersey Sectional titles and 7 Burlington County Champions. Coach Curt Clark directs the World Athlete Pole Vault Camps. World Athlete staff include local track coaches, college track coaches and talented college coaches-in-training. They all share a passion for the sport and the strong desire to share their knowledge with young athletes.
WORLD ATHLETE POLE VAULT CAMPS The World Athlete Pole Vault Camp is directed by Coach Curt Clark. Coach Clark is the pole vault coach at Moorestown HS. His athletes have excelled at the county, sectional and state levels. One of his pole vault alums recently won the Penn Relays college division womens pole vault. Another alum won the Ivy League title while vaulting for Princeton. The pole vault mini-camp is for athletes in 6th-12th grade. Age-appropriate training and equipment will be provided. This mini-camp runs from 8:30am and ends at 12:00pm daily. 6th, 7th and 8th graders can enroll in the pole vault camp as part of a day program.
WORLD ATHLETE DISTANCE CAMP Distance runners have always attended the World Athlete Summer Track Academy. Now there dedicated distance weeks for them. The distance runners will have longer runs in the morning and afternoon, specialized speed training and core training. There is distance runs in every camp week so, of course, distance runners may attend the other World Athlete track camps weeks and have even more running fun!
WORLD ATHLETE THROWS CAMP Athletes will receive specialized training in all throwing events - shot put, discus and javelin. This camp also includes weight training and conditioning workouts. PRICES Track Camp Day Program 8:30am-3:00pm $299

Track camps and mini camps include instruction, World Athlete T-shirt & World Athlete Community Track Meet entry fee. Day Pass athletes receive include instruction and a World Athlete T-shirt.
Parents, friends and other track fans pay a $3.00 spectator fee at the weekly meets.
